Green, Gold & Growing

Full-Service Design Project

Rochester Hills, MI

This client desired to stop wasting space and create an updated cohesive first floor with a green kitchen. A few things that were important to the client were having beautiful green cabinets with gold touches and the space to feel like one large room. They have five kids, ten grandkids and wanted room for more. Previously they had an unused dining room that would only fill up with junk. We opened the wall between the dining room and the kitchen, took down the soffits and hid a new support beam to make sure it felt like one space. We took out the dining room window and small kitchen window to put in two new windows, bringing in more light to the now expanded kitchen.

For a growing family’s gathering space they needed more than one island. Two Islands allow for one to host and one to prep or work at as just one example. The gap between the islands is perfect for functional kitchen flow getting to the range and the sink. The green and wood tones compliment the nature outside while the white walls brighten and reflect the sunlight. The gold contrast with the green adds elegant charm, bringing daily joy. We worked from start to finish to ensure the client would have a beautiful kitchen that was both functional and fit all of their family needs.
